India will attempt for innovative technologies from the US for advancing the country's infrastructure facilities during Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's meetings with top American officials and corporate leaders to attract billions of dollars in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the critical sector. Gadkari will seeks the United States cooperation in novel technologies in tunnel projects, material, equipment, highway projects, road safety initiatives, intelligent transport systems (ITS) and training institutes including equipment like training simulators, officials here said today.
Gadkari will assess the prospective United States investors of the fiscal incentives, the government has offered the infrastructure sector, with 100% FDI through automatic route, project land i.e shield availability of Right of Way, capital grant up to 40% of project cost to amplify viability on a case to case basis provided by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Government Of India. India has foresee around $150 billion investments for the highways sector in the next five years with range of projects to suit each investor's risk and return expectations.
