Curfew is claimed in certain parts
of Imphal East district of Manipur on Sunday for the continued violence. The curfew imposed from
Sunday noon which covers Porompat and Sawombung subdivisions of Imphal East
district and will be continued till further inclination as per an order issued by the
district magistrate said. The state has
been experiencing severe penury in supply of required items since 1st November onwards after United Naga Council (UNC) imposed an unresolved economic blockade on
the two national highways.
There was a pungent fight between the
security forces and militants. The two
commandos were injured. The siege was imposed for the state government's declaration of formation of seven new districts, out of it four have been formally initiated. The attack was followed by triple bomb blasts at Nagaram
area in Imphal West district reputedly by Manipur Naga People's anterior on
Friday. In an another incident, militants overwhelm a small outpost of
Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) at Nungkao area on Saturday and escaped with nine service weapons.
