Junaid Mattoo Top LeT commander and his collaborator Muzamil were killed today in an operation by security forces in Arwani village, Bijbihara, Anantnag District of south Kashmir. Mattoo was confine for more than 8 hours with other two local Lashkar militants in a joint operation conducted by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police to catch the terrorists. One militant has been arrested by the security forces.

As the barrier was being place with some youth gathered near the area and started pelting stones on security forces which resulted in skirmish. Mattoo was involved in a day light attack on a police van in which three policemen including an officer were killed last year. And also his involvement is predicted in killing of a policeman in Kulgam area of South Kashmir on Thursday afternoon. Mattoo was believed to be active for the past two years and carried a bounty of INR 10 lakh on his head.

As police says eight prisoners who escaped from a high-security jail in Bhopal have been killed. Police said they have been killed the escapees outside the city in Madhya Pradesh after they withstand arrest.  The eight men used bed sheets to scale a wall, a senior police official Bhopal Rama Singh told the Press Trust of India news agency. Singh said the men belonged to the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (Simi). Simi was blamed by police for bombings of Mumbai commuter trains in 2006 which killed 187 people. An inquiry has been launched into the escape and the prison's superintendent has been suspended, reports say.

An encounter has been took place between Gangsters and Joint team of Telangana Police, NIA in Shadnagar, Telangana on Monday. Two criminals were shooted in the encounter according to sources. Reportedly one criminal has been identified as Naeem a most-wanted gangster in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He was also involved in Naxal activities too. Police asked him to surrender but he and his men started firing on the Police. The entire area was isolated off after the tip-off. Heavy security force was deployed on the outskirts of Hyderabad one house was surrounded as operation.

A Colonel of Army's elite Para Commando force was today killed and a policeman injured by militants during an operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in kupwara district of Kashmir, officials said. The Commanding Officer of 41 Rashtriya Rifles Colonel Santosh, who was leading a search party, was critically injured when militants hiding in a dense forest area of Haji Naka opened fire, the officials said. 
Santosh, who was from the elite regiment of Para Commandos, was evacuated to a hospital but he succumbed to injuries, the officials said. They said a police constable was also injured in the firing and was undergoing treatment. The operation to track down the militants was continuing when last reports were received, the officials said.
The party of army and police came under fire when it was conducting searches as part of an operation started on November 13 to flush out terrorists hiding in the forest area on the basis of a specific information. An Army jawan was injured on the first day of the operation.
After the initial contact on November 13, the militants fled deep into the forests and the security forces continued the chase them, leading to fresh contact today, the officials said.

 Three Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Odisha today, police said.

 The gun battle took place in Malkangiri District, Bhejaguda forest when members of District Voluntary Force (DVF) located a secret camp of Maoists during a search operation.

Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said the security forces retaliated when the Maoists opened fire on them.

 Police sources said one of the killed Maoists has been identified as Sunadhar.

The state government had announced a Rs. 5 lakh bounty on his head.
