A 5-year-old girl was raped and then strangulated to death and her body dumped near Jajpur-Keonjhar Road railway station at Panasia in Jajpur, police said on Monday. The girl was reported missing by her mother on returning home from work on Sunday. On searching the area with the help of her neighbours, she found her body near the railway track, police said. Police have filed an FIR in connection with the matter.
