Only 7% of the graduates passing
out of Indian business schools are eligible for employment, according to a
study by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham),
which represents around 4,50,000 business entities. The study says with
exception of elite Indian Institutes of Management (IIM's) and including top 20
ranking institutions produce 'un-employable' graduates. And the companies are
paying less than INR 10,000 per month. This is due to lack of quality control
and infrastructure facilities. Assocham explained that main reasons are due to
low paying jobs through campus placement, outdated curriculum and poor faculty.
Around 220 B-schools shut down in the last two year in cities such as Mumbai,
Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Hyderabad etc. And at least 120 more B-Schools are expected to be wind up in 2016, the study said.
Assocham says in the last two years campus recruitment's have dropped by 45% and packages are falling. On an average two year MBA course in india costs INR 3 lakh to INR 5 lakh. And the current average monthly salary for MBA graduates is lying between INR 8,000
to INR 10,000. An annual pay of
INR 96,000 to INR 1,20,000 according to Assocham.
