The flagged off fastest train in india, today as part of a major modernisation of the crumbling railway system.
1-The train has a top speed of 100 miles per hour, when compared to trains in China, Japan and other countries which have 200 miles per hour or more.
2-It's just seven minutes faster than the Shatabdi Express
3-Described by the government as India's first semi high-speed train it is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's $135 billion plan to overhaul the rail network over five years.
4-Tickets price ranging from ₹750 to ₹1,500 depending on seat class.
5-The Gatimaan also includes plush interiors and bio-toilets.
6-It boasts of on-board hostesses and bone china crockery.
7-There is a GPS-passenger information service and free Wi-Fi.
8-Its speed is an improvement over other trains running on the same route at 150 kilometres an hour,
9-The Gatimaan will run six days a week, except on Fridays when the Taj Mahal is closed.
10-Trains in India average speeds of around 110 km per hour.
