On Saturday officials of Thiruvallur district rescued around 330 bonded labourers, and 88 children hailing
from ruin tribal districts of Odisha State from a brick kiln in Poochetti
village, Tamil Nadu. The raid was conducted by S Jeyachandran (Revenue Divisional Officer) in assistance with an NGO. After getting the information
about several people are stuck at a brick kiln in Thiruvallur, district
administration formed a joint action team under leadership of S. Jayachandran, and also embrace members of International
Justice Mission and did raid at the place. All the people rescued from that brick kiln were cajole that they would be paid an advance of INR 10,000 – INR 16,000 for a contract of 6 months, during which they would have to undergo hard
labour.
