Today Odisha
government counsel the Centre for introduction of e-Visa provision at the
Biju Patnaik International Airport. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a letter to Union Home Minister
Rajnath Singh, made a proposal for introduction of
e-Visa to arriving tourists. Mr Patnaik added that state government has entered into an MoU with Air Asia in which the state
government is providing viability gap funding for the international carrier for
its operations from Bhubaneswar. Mr Patnaik said there has been an
exceptionally good response to this international connectivity with the Indian
citizens travelling abroad through Bhubaneswar.
