Today Odisha government counsel the Centre for introduction of e-Visa provision at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, made a proposal for introduction of e-Visa to arriving tourists. Mr Patnaik added that state government has entered into an MoU with Air Asia in which the state government is providing viability gap funding for the international carrier for its operations from Bhubaneswar. Mr Patnaik said there has been an exceptionally good response to this international connectivity with the Indian citizens travelling abroad through Bhubaneswar.

Edappadi K Palaniswami (Senior AIADMK leader) is now expected to be chief minister of Tamil Nadu in coming couple of days after sources confirmed that Palaniswami would likely be called by the governor C Vidyasagar Rao to form the next government. Palaniswami the state minister for public works, highways and minor ports. The Palaniswamy has claimed the support of 123 MLA's and more than the majority mark in the 234-member assembly.

The governor called Palaniswami at 7.30 pm and Panneerselvam an hour later. According to the sources Palaniswami appear as the clear winner in the numbers game as Panneerselvam , failed to assemble enough for support, even after 24 hours, Sasikala was knocked out of the race by her conviction. Sources says that legal advisers told the governor that in the present circumstances, there was no alternative but to invite Palaniswami to form the next government and prove his majority on the floor of the assembly.

The jittery over Tamil Nadu's political development recline, as the swearing of Sasikala Natarajan as the Chief Minister will not be held on Tuesday. Vidyasagar Rao (Tamil Nadu Governor) is unlikely to administer the vow of Sasikala, as he is examining the legal implication of the development.

Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to stay the swearing-in ceremony of Sasikala. The petition filed by a Tamil Nadu based lawyer, Senthil Kumar resist that the state would witness chaos if Sasikala will be Chief Minister and also is forced to resign in case the SC overturns the order of clearing of the Karnataka High Court in the disproportionate assets (DA) case pending in the apex court. And the possibility of riots all over the state, which is already facing a fraught situation due to demonetisation, cyclone and death of CM, hence it is vital that fresh plight is not created, the petition said.
