The jittery over Tamil Nadu's political development recline, as the swearing of Sasikala Natarajan as the Chief Minister will not be held on Tuesday. Vidyasagar Rao (Tamil Nadu Governor) is unlikely to administer the vow of Sasikala, as he is examining the legal implication of the development.

Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to stay the swearing-in ceremony of Sasikala. The petition filed by a Tamil Nadu based lawyer, Senthil Kumar resist that the state would witness chaos if Sasikala will be Chief Minister and also is forced to resign in case the SC overturns the order of clearing of the Karnataka High Court in the disproportionate assets (DA) case pending in the apex court. And the possibility of riots all over the state, which is already facing a fraught situation due to demonetisation, cyclone and death of CM, hence it is vital that fresh plight is not created, the petition said.

The Supreme Court today had declined to pass a fresh order to stop cockfights in Andhra Pradesh. Cockfights are popular in Andhra Pradesh during the Sankranti festival. A pew embrace of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice D Y Chandrachud wane to pass the order when it was submitted that the Andhra Pradesh High Court regulation in this view is not being followed.  The senior advocate Siddharth Lights who said the High Court order interdict cockfights in the state is not being followed by the state administration. The request is refused, the bench said.

In a Respite for Karnataka, the Krishna Water Arguments Court-II, headed by Justice Brijesh Kumar, on Wednesday rejected the taking a court case to a higher court for review of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to give out things in a different way Krishna water among all the four related states. The court ruled that the water will be given in a different way between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since the argument is kept to/restricted to only these states. The much-awaited legal decision has come as a big relief for Karnataka and Maharashtra, which had argued against change in who gets water based on the Reorganisation Act.  The court asked Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to submit their demur and arguments, if any, within four weeks and ended the hearing till December 14.


Telangana Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy said to reporters in New Delhi that the court order is not final and subject to review by the Supreme Court. The two states had searched to get the river water among the four states quoting Section 89 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Maharashtra and Karnataka had pointed that the Reorganization Act is limited to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Maharashtra and Karnataka were not parties to it.

Karnataka precipitate a constitutional crisis by taking a obstinate stand that it was unable to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu as per the orders of the Supreme Court. Supreme Court has passed a fresh order on Friday asking the State Government to release 6,000 cusecs daily till October 6th or face the 'wrath of law'. A bench of Justices U U Lalit and Dipak Misra said, Karnataka should not be bent upon maintaining an stubborn stand of confrontation, for one knows not when the pique of law shall fall on one. During the hearing, Karnataka counsel Fali S Nariman handed over to the Supreme Court a letter written by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to him conveying that both Houses of the state legislature, all political parties and Union ministers were unanimous that the will of the people of Karnataka was against release of water.

According to the sources state government of Karnataka has decided to go against the Supreme Court's orders on the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu State. The order specifies that Karnataka to release 6,000 Cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu per day from September 21 to September 27. While it is wretched that a state government decided to ignore a judicial order, this also calls into question the role of the Supreme Court in the matter. The former secretary of the Union Ministry Ramaswamy S Iyer of Water Resources and an expert on the matter made the carping that Supreme Court was hearing the Cauvery dispute in the first place. According to Iyer, Article 262 in the Constitution is clear that the courts had no role to play in this matter and decisions would be taken by the Parliament.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had expressed his keenness to abandon on September 12th itself when Supreme Court ordered to release 12,000 cusecs of water daily till September 20th, according to the sources. Chief Minister was advised against any such political misfortune by the party high command. The message was reportedly communicated strongly by novice Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Oscar Fernandes. If Siddaramaiah assert on going with the people, he will have to expel the post citing moral grounds without making any adverse remarks on the order. Such a move could make him a hero and pay political dividends in battles ahead, according to the sources. But the party will have to elect a new Chief Minister and implement the order or caliper for imposition of President's rule, which could lead to upsurge of the crisis. 

It will also nourish Tamil Nadu's unvarying demand for initiate the Cauvery Management Board to take over control and manage the reservoirs in Cauvery basin. Any such misadventure will deal a big blow for Karnataka's long-term interests in the Cauvery dispute as the Special Leave Petition of Karnataka challenging the final award of Cauvery Tribunal is set to come up for hearing in SC on October 18, said Congress leaders who advocate a heedful approach in dealing with the critical point, at least till October 18.

An estimation of $505 billion (about INR 34 Lakh Crores, as per current exchange rate) black money was outflow from India by a US-based think tank is 'heavily inflate' the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has informed the Supreme Court-appointed SIT looking into cases of ruin money. Global Financial Integrity (non profit research and advisory organisation) functioning from Washington had in its report 'Illicit Financial Flows from Developing Countries 2004 2013' estimated that black money outflow from India for the period was to the tune of $505 billion .

In a statement central govt stated the Supreme Court that India shouldn't claim Kohinoor diamond from the British. Solicitor General said that Kohinoor gifted by Maharaja Ranjit Singh to the East India Company. He said that it is the view of the Culture Ministry.  Indians have long maintained that the Kohinoor should be returned to India by its former colonial rulers. Recently on April 8th the Apex Court asked the government to clarify its stand on a  Pacific International Lines (PIL) seeking return of Kohinoor diamond to India. Everybody is claiming the Kohinoor a bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur had told the solicitor general many countries are claiming Kohinoor such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and even South Africa. Somebody here is also asking for the Kohinoor. Do you know about it ?

The petition also also sought return of the 'ring and sword' of Tipu Sultan and other treasures of Tipu Sultan, Bahadur Shah Zafar, Rani Jhansi, Nawab Mir Ahmad Ali Banda and other rulers of India.

 Supreme Court has extended the hearing of Salman Khan’s 2002 hit-and-run case to Friday February 12, 2016. The bench was responding to the fresh appeal filed in the case by the Maharashtra state government but now 2-days before the hearing, the family of Noorullah Khan, who was killed in the accident has moved Supreme Court to challenge Salman Khan’s acquittal. Earlier, Noorullah Khan’s son said Indian Express that i forgive Salman khan but now i don’t know who killed my father. It has been 13 years since the incident happen even today, the question remains unanswered for me. The verdict has not brought any closure. In my view, his act was not intentional. It was an accident, and my father happened to be the unfortunate victim the sentencing serves no purpose.
