Finally he opened his mouth, Inquiry panel will be set up to probe Jayalalithaa's death. TamilNadu CM Panneerselvam two months after on Jayalalithaa's death, he said he would recommend an inquiry commission under a sitting Supreme Court judge to probe the "doubts" surrounding the health condition and demise of the late leader.
After revealing on Tuesday night that he was forced to resign as Chief Minister, O.Panneerselvam spoke to media persons on Wednesday. He was flanked by Kavundampalayam MLA V.C. Aaru kutty and Rajya Sabha MP Maitreyan.
I will prove my strength in Assembly: Panneerselvam

- I will withdraw my resignation, if given an opportunity to do so.
- MLAs will prove their support in the Assembly.
- There has been no instance where I have betrayed the party.
- I have been following Jayalalithaa' s footsteps
- Judicial inquiry will be ordered into Jayalalithaa's death
- As per party bylaws general secretary can be elected only by cadres through ballots. Soon general body should be convened to elect permanent general secretary.
- I will accept Deepa Jayakumar's ( Jayalalithaa's niece) support, if offered.
- I will meet Governor soon and I will meet the people in every nook and corner.
- My appeal to MLAs is that they should take decision taking into account people's feelings in their constituencies.
And also "A proper election must be held to elect the party general secretary. We now have a temporary general secretary, who was nominated under an extraordinary situation," he said.
In fact, news trickling in that Election Commission pointing out that there is no "interim" gen secy under AIADMK constitution. Little wonder, governor deferring decision to invite Sasikala. Even sacking OPS from treasurer post not legit.
Opinion on O.Pannerselvam as CM candidate:
No one would deny the very fact that the caretaker chief minister O.Panneerselvam has been a trusted lieutenant of the former CM as he was asked to be in power of the caretaker CM time and again by none else but Ms Jayalalitha herself as and when required and that worked well for the former CM most of the times.
Opinion on Sashikala as CM candidate:
Ms Sashikala has been the closest person in life of the former CM for last 33 years till her demise and so her integrity can not be questioned ordinarily in reality.
Why and where people in confusion and what they are looking for..?
The real necessity of the state is to have a proper CM in power that would fulfill the legitimate wishes of masses better in time and that can be addressed in a democratic manner only. Finally, selection of a leader remains the prerogative of the elected members and they must exercise their rights successfully, The claim declared by them that it was OPS who himself had insisted Mrs Sasikala to take the leadership position has proved to be wrong completely now and they need to apologize for the same without fail. The developments taking place in the state politics was not called for after all, the conditions appearing with the lapse of time seems to be provoking further confusions only and people need sigh of relief at this point in time, the supreme commander of armed forces of India must exercise its power laid down in the constitution in this direction to ensure, through its channels, that no more mischief on part of the political class is witnessed in the state.
This is the time to Tamilnadu people act wisely regarding their future. Otherwise the state would be in many problems.!!!
