In a big relief to the BS Yeddyurappa (Former Karnataka Chief Minister) a CBI court in Bengaluru on Wednesday exculpate him and others including some of his family members, of all charges in relation to the Prerana Trust Case . Yeddyurppa said to the media that Justice is done, I stand free thanks to all well-wishers, friends & supporters who stood with me in my tough times. He added 'Satyameva Jayate'.

The CBI had registered FIR against Yeddyurappa and his family members four years ago after the Supreme Court in May 2012 directed it to investigate charges of undue favours to firms involved in illegal mining in lieu of donations to Prerana Educational and Social Trust. The trust is being run by Yeddyurappa's two sons and his relatives. The CBI had assert that INR 20 Crores was transferred by Jindal Steel Works (JSW) to the Trust. The controversy also includes the purchase of  1 acre 12 guntas land in Rachenahali in the year 2006 by sons and son in law, when Yeddyurappa was the deputy chief minister of the state. On November 3, 2008, when Yeddyurappa became chief minister the same land was de-notified and then sold for a big sum to one of the companies.
