Indian Railways on Sunday steps towards trial run for high-speed Talgo trains of Spain from Bareilly to Moradabad stretch in Uttar Pradesh. The test train consisted of
one powered by steam fit for 180 Kmhr with one first class coach, one cafeteria coach, one VIP coach and four second class coaches, according to the sources. The second phase of trial run will be orchestrate from Palwal to Mathura. The
trial run will be conducted to test the safety, riding and stability of Talgo trains. The trials are conducted with empty coaches and then with sand
bags filling the passenger sitting spaces. The speed of the train during the
trial run will range from 130 Kmpr to 180 Kmpr. Talgo has semi-high speed of 160-250 kmph and high-speed 350
kmph which is energy-efficient. Recently the Indian Railways
flagged off country's first semi-high speed train Gatimaan Express between
Delhi and Agra which can run at a maximum speed of 160 kmpr.
