The National Human Rights Commission declared that only three of Odisha's 568 hospitals have fire safety clearance, issued a notice to the BJD Government over the fire incident happened at a hospital in Bhubaneswar which caused death of 21 people dead and more than 100 people were injured in the blaze that broke out at SUM Hospital and Medical College on Monday evening.  The Commission has observed that uncaring attitude and lapses of the authorities if any, violation of right to life of the patients, and expressed a shock how the state authorities 'allowed' such a large number of hospitals to function without proper fire safety clearance.
