safety clearance, issued a
notice to the BJD Government over the fire incident happened at a hospital in
Bhubaneswar which caused death of 21 people dead and more than 100 people were
injured in the blaze that broke out at SUM Hospital and Medical College on
Monday evening. The Commission has observed that uncaring attitude and lapses of the authorities if any, violation of right to life of the patients, and expressed a shock how the
state authorities 'allowed' such a large number of hospitals to
function without proper fire safety clearance.
