The Indian boxing star Vijender Singh again proved one more time in the WBO Asia Pacific super middleweight title defence by beating Tanzanian boxer Francis Cheka by a TKO at the Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. Undefeated in the circuit so far. In the 10-round title defence contest, Vijender Singh will be up against his most experienced rival so far. Vijender Singh, the 2008 Beijing Olympics bronze medallist, is undefeated in eight professional stint now. 


Vijender Singh sunjugate the bout from the beginning and not given any chance to penetrate his defence.

Deep Ekka has put India in a lead via penalty corner in 13th minute as India went into a 1-0 lead after end of the first quarter in the match. China has came back strongly in the second half to level the score in the third quarter. Zhong Mengling has scored a fine field goal in the 44th minute to make it 1-1. The fourth and final quarter saw some throb action from both the teams with India transpire triumphant at the end. 

India tasted their first defeat of the tournament as they went down fighting 2-3 China in their final league encounter. China topped the table with nine points, pushing India to second spot with seven points, followed by Japan, Korea and Malaysia after the league stage.

India succeed 3-2 over arch-rivals Pakistan to re-claim the Asian Champions Trophy hockey, the team presented a perfect Diwali gift to the country.  Goals from Rupinder Pal Singh (18th minute), Yousuf Affan (23rd) and Nikkin Thimmaiah (51st) helped India conquer the challenge from Pakistan, who re-form from two goals behind through strikes by Muhammad Aleem Bilal (26th) and Ali Shaan (38th) in the title collision of the fourth edition of tournament.  This was the first time ever the teams were meeting in the final of a continental tournament since India oust Pakistan as the Asian Games champions in Incheon, South Korea in 2014. India had won the initial edition of the Asian Champions Trophy by defeating Pakistan in the final in 2011. Pakistan reversed the result in the title contest the next year and went on to retain it in 2013 by defeating Japan in the final. World No. 6 India were the favorites going into the tournament, but were without several seasoned players who had been rested to convalesce from injuries.

A three day Commonwealth regional seminar improve the abilities of parliamentarians to promote and protect human rights in Asia the decision was taken by the Parliament of Sri Lanka to host from tomorrow. The seminar will reportedly take place from Feb 1st to 3rd
Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe will deliver the keynote address during the opening of the seminar. The CPA (Commonwealth Secretariat and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association) , in collaboration with the CPA Sri Lanka Branch, are jointly convening the seminar for Asia, India and South-East Asia Legislatures and will focus on ‘strengthening the role of Parliamentarians in the promotion and protection of human rights’. 
The Focus of Parliamentarians in these three days will be their relationship with the international human rights system including the work of the Human Rights Council and its Universal Periodic Review mechanism.
