Youth of Andhra Pradesh took to Twitter and Facebook, planning a 'silent protest' at
Vizag RK Beach, on 26th of this Month, there were calls for many to come and join. Even Janasena President Pawan Kalyan extended his support. Kalyan on Twitter, said '#APDemadsSpecialStatus, If youth of AP are planning to do a silent
protest on 26th Jan at RK Beach, Vizag, #Janasena Supports them'.
In 2016, enormous protests broke
out all over the AP in September, after Arun Jaitley (Union Finance Minister) declared a 'special economic package' for Andhra Pradesh, ideally of special status that the state had demanded. This resulted to a lot of indignation, since the AP Special Status was a long standing demand of
all the political parties in the state. The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assert that the
state will get a monetary advantage, analogous to the special category status, this hasn't helped too much. The
central government's financial package also includes a special assistance, a
series of tax concessions and full funding of the Polavaram irrigation project.
