The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) leaded by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday has cleared six investment proposals worth of INR 3,808 Crores. The companies whose proposals were cleared are Chettinad Cement Corporation Pvt. Ltd, KCP Ltd, Mohan Spintex India Ltd, Rain Group, Vishwaa Apparels and Indo Count Industries Ltd, according to a press statement from CM's office. The Chettinad Cement proposed for the investment of INR 1,350 Crores and to set up cement grinding units and cement manufacturing plants at Gytulapalem, Tallapalem, Pedagarlapadu village in Guntur district and at Narasapuram village in Visakahpatanam district. This project will start its commercial production from March 2019, and is expected to provide employment to 1,250 people.


And KCP Ltd with an investment of INR 531.61 Crores proposes to setup a cement manufacturing unit on 100 acres at Muktyala village in Krishna district. And estimated to create direct employment to about 100 people and indirect employment to 1,900. A total of 1,569 are being tracked by 17 departments with a committed investment of INR 16,87,845 Crores in Andhra Pradesh. Out of the total projects, 343 have gone into the production stage.

The demand for Special Category Status of Andhra Pradesh is gaining momentum in Vishakapatnam. The main reason of protest is that it was charged by Janasena President Pawan Kalyan and YSR Congress Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Pawan Kalyan has been leading the charge for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh, assert that when the Congress led UPA Government bifurcated Andhra Pradesh in June 2014, most of the resources were allotted to the new state, while the old one was given tread motherly treatment. Pawan even counseled Andhra politicians to take a page out of Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu to ask for Special Category Status for the state from the Centre.

Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy now started posit more strain on this matter. He was refused to enter to the city by authorities at Visakhapatnam airport, Jagan started sit-down protest at Visakhapatnam airport. Police stoped several protesters who were concern on issue in the city.

Even as many messages are been circulated on social media on how much Andhra Pradesh had lost to Telangana during the bifurcation, and how much the state would benefit if given special status. Protests have been taking place in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati and many other places, even though Section 144 placed. The stirrer have been demanding that the centre should announce special status, instead of special package for the state.

Youth of Andhra Pradesh took to Twitter and Facebook, planning a 'silent protest' at Vizag RK Beach, on 26th of this Month, there were calls for many to come and join. Even Janasena President Pawan Kalyan extended his support. Kalyan on Twitter, said '#APDemadsSpecialStatus, If youth of AP are planning to do a silent protest on 26th Jan at RK Beach, Vizag, #Janasena Supports them'. 

In 2016, enormous protests broke out all over the AP in September, after Arun Jaitley (Union Finance Minister) declared a 'special economic package' for Andhra Pradesh, ideally of special status that the state had demanded. This resulted to a lot of indignation, since the AP Special Status was a long standing demand of all the political parties in the state. The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assert that the state will get a monetary advantage, analogous to the special category status, this hasn't helped too much. The central government's financial package also includes a special assistance, a series of tax concessions and full funding of the Polavaram irrigation project.

In Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)  raided the house of an K Lakshman Bhaskar (Senior Additional excise commissioner) houses of his relatives, friends and his agents were searched. In this they found excavate property worth of INR 50 Crores. Acting on a tip off, the dick carried the raid on Saturday across the state and in Hyderabad. 

ACB conducted raids in 11 places at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and West Godavari. During the raid, the officers found ten house sites, two flats, 4.5 acres of agriculture land in his name, INR 9 lakh in cash in new denomination of INR 2,000 rupee notes, 15 kg silver, 3 kg gold and 29 foreign liquor bottles. His investments and  shares amounted to INR 23 lakhs, apart from a LIC policy of INR 3 lakh.

French companies have reveals their interest in integrate with the Andhra Pradesh Government and making investments in urban infrastructure, smart cities, solar, urban development, renewable energy and sports. A alliance of 53 companies led by Alexandre Zieglar (French ambassador to India) visited the state on Wednesday and met AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and senior officials. They also showed interest in investments in sectors like water, transportation, waste, energy, communications and information technology. Many corporate companies showed their interest in ally with the state government in development of state capital Amaravati and Metro Rail projects in Vizag and Vijayawada.


The French ambassador was excite by the eager Amaravati development project and extol Chief Minister vision to develop a greenfield modern capital city. The French corporates have made presentation on their budding areas of concert. CM was impressed with the innovative ideas and technologies showcased by the French companies and welcomed their request to partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He requested the French companies to sign MoU's with the AP Economic Development Board and pursue succor on aerodynamic their entry and investments in the sunrise state. Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh an ideal place for investments with long coast line and copious mineral resources. Chief Minister welcomed the French business delegacy to invest in various sectors in the state by assuring necessary support and clearances within 14 days.

Andhra Pradesh is being witnessing good Monsoon rains. In the present situation the cyclonic flow over the state coast and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and South Odisha coast. This weather system has remained static over the region. The kindred cyclonic circulation from this system extends up to 7.6kms above sea level and is bevel with height south-westwards. The rainfall has remained cramped to the coastal belt and Telangana State. The rainfall will continue for next 12 to 24 hours over the region. In the last 21 hours Machilipatnam has witnessed 29 mm of rainfall and Vizag has witnessed 16 mm of rainfall, rains was received over Bapatla and adjoining areas. Hyderabad has witnessed 67 mm of rains. Mostly cloudy to cloudy sky and low temperature will be observed over the area. This rainfall activity will start decreasing over the region after 24 hours.

Venkaiah Naidu (Union Minister) said Andhra Pradesh has steadily increased Air Passengers, the proposed extension of a runway will help meet this demand and also boost the developments in the region. The Current growth level of air passenger traffic in Andhra Pradesh lies at 61 % as against the average national figure of 17 %, Naidu said. 
Venkaiah Naidu said after laying the foundation stone for the runway extension at the airport in East Godavari District which involves a cost of around INR 187 Crores. 
Union Minister said Airport will play an important role in the industrial development coming up along the coast from Visakhapatnam to Chennai. This will also help in transportation of perishable goods from the region. 

Venkaiah said Aviation Sector has witnessed a remarkable growth in passenger traffic and praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for reducing VAT on Aviation Turbine Fuel. He said an MoU has been signed among the Andhra Government, Civil Aviation Ministry and Airports Authority of India on inter connectivity of airports. There is a need to develop Visakhapatnam airport for international flights, he added.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday that every Gram Panchayat must have a MeeSeva Centre to accredit villagers to complete their work with the government in their village itself. Chief Minister spoke after inaugurating an additional 100 MeeSeva centres for the district and the INR 8.30 Crores shopping complex built by VUDA in place of its old complex in Seetammadhara, Vishakapatnam. Technology to be utilised to the maximum extent. As everything is going online in the State, intrusion of middlemen will be eliminated and the benefits of social welfare schemes would reach the genuine beneficiaries, Chandra Babu said and made it cleared that the social welfare programmers would not be downsized, in this process ineligible and 'ghost' beneficiaries would be weeded out. Files are also going online. Thanks to technology, I will be able to see how a file are moving or how many streetlights in Visakhapatnam are in good shape, Chief Minister said. MeeSeva centres would play a key role in the implementation of all the government programmes.

K Sasi Kumar an IPS officer died on Thursday morning with a bullet injury from his service revolver at his office in Paderu, Visakhapatnam. His  service revolver went off fortuitously when he was cleaning it. The bullet impale his head and he was severely wounded, An officer said to media. Sasi Kumar was declared dead on arrival by doctors at a hospital in Paderu. Officers have not ruled out the possibility of suicide.


Sasi Kumar, is basically from Tamil Nadu he got his first posting in Alagadda, Kurnool district. He took charge as ASP of Paderu six months ago. He was an IPS officer of the 2012 batch. According to Newsminute, Kumar's contributions helped in the seizure of drugs worth crores during anti-narcotic raids.The police have registered a case in this regard.

Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning for 33 hotels major global and domestic brands with total investment of INR 2,400 Crores to boost tourism development, more than 2,766 rooms with investment of INR 2,400 Crores a report said. Report said more tourists now willing towards water sports, entertainment avenues and adventure tourism, Andhra Pradesh Govt is also focusing on them. To make Andhra Pradesh as most preferred destination, the state is all set to launch a host of water sports and adventure tourism facilities. The state already introduced facilities like jeep para-sailing, para-sailing, water-skiing, para-motoring, speed boat at Bhavani Islands in Vijayawada. Work is also in progress to reproduce the same across other beaches such as Bheemili, Rishikonda, Thotlakonda, Mangamaripeta, according to a source. The state will launch amphibious vehicles in Vijayawada and Rajahmundry to operate on both land and water, the report said. The state is also coming up with sea planes to be functional in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Kakinada to offer Heli tourism.

D Umamaheswara Rao (AP Irrigation Minister) has said that the Polavaram Irrigation project conferring benefits to East Godavari, West Godavari, Visakhapatnam and Krishna districts is expected to be completed by 2018. Rao also said that all works on the right bank canal will be finished by June-2017. The state government is taking all required steps to complete the Polavaram project by 2018. He said water which was over-flowing into the sea after usage of water for two crops in East Godavari district will be diverted to Krishna delta through Pattiseema project. He said that Chief Minister has directed officials to spend INR 300 Crores towards land acquisition for various projects.
