Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati has obliviously drawn the heed of Pakistan Media. The now discarded cupola shaped design for the Andhra Pradesh assembly at Amaravati drawn by international architects Maki and Associates has sparked off a conjecture that a mega nuclear power plant is being planned on the right bank of the river Krishna near Vijayawada. The footage of one such debate on a media in Pakistan was telecast by a Telugu TV channel on Tuesday night. One of the participants on the Pakistani channel proclaim that a mega city is being constructed in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture what he called hydrogen bombs. He also accused the United States of helping Andhra Pradesh in building Amaravati.

Visits of sundry teams from Japan, Singapore and China  to Vijayawada has reportedly created a sort of fear psychosis on the other side of the border over a 'Mega Nuclear City'. En Passant the AP government had rejected the 'dome' design for the assembly as it favour nuclear towers. The government has asked Maki and Associates to come out with a new design.

AP CM Chandrababu said that exorbitant prices of land in capital region will cause flight of investments to the next destination Rayalaseema and other states. Doing business in Singapore appears to be cost-effective than in Vijayawada and Guntur due to the land value inflation. In the 5th anniversary celebrations of L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) Chandrababu who has attended as chief guest said that people had jacked up land prices and also rents but were not selling them with an intention to commercialize the properties. At the end, experience matters always. When Telangana first proposed Entry Tax for all the AP vehicles coming to the state, Chandrababu Naidu cautioned that such move will be detrimental to both the sides but will impact Telangana more. But Telangana CM was adamant and went about imposing the entry tax, later Andhra Pradesh also had to follow that.

However the result of this entry tax is showing up adversely on Telangana.
The state has many manufacturing units located in and around Hyderabad, the vehicles of those are ending up paying additional 4 Crore due to double taxation.
Also, there are several tourist vehicles from Telangana going to various pilgrim places of AP like Tirupati, Simhachalam, Vijayawada etc.
This is resulting in loss to Telangana and additional burden to tourist operators of the state. In AP, Private bus operators plying vehicles from Vijayawada and Guntur to Hyderabad are at receiving end paying Rs 90 lakh more due to double taxation.
So to end up this menace, Telangana government proposed introduction of counter signature system to avoid double taxation on goods carrier vehicles. Under this system, both states will agree not to collect tax on certain number (10000 now) of vehicles plying between AP and Telangana. 10,000 vehicles of both the sides will avail this benefit.
