The Andhra Pradesh Government today has signed an pact with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to foster innovation in financial services in their respective markets.  Under the financial technologies Co-operation Agreement, MAS and the AP Government will scout joint innovation projects on technology such as digital payments and block-chain, ally on development of education programs and curricula on financial technologies, according to sources. The AP Government and MAS also agreed to discuss emerging technology trends and exchange views on regulatory issues related to innovations in financial services. The Pact was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli.

Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati has obliviously drawn the heed of Pakistan Media. The now discarded cupola shaped design for the Andhra Pradesh assembly at Amaravati drawn by international architects Maki and Associates has sparked off a conjecture that a mega nuclear power plant is being planned on the right bank of the river Krishna near Vijayawada. The footage of one such debate on a media in Pakistan was telecast by a Telugu TV channel on Tuesday night. One of the participants on the Pakistani channel proclaim that a mega city is being constructed in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture what he called hydrogen bombs. He also accused the United States of helping Andhra Pradesh in building Amaravati. 

Visits of sundry teams from Japan, Singapore and China  to Vijayawada has reportedly created a sort of fear psychosis on the other side of the border over a 'Mega Nuclear City'. En Passant the AP government had rejected the 'dome' design for the assembly as it favour nuclear towers. The government has asked Maki and Associates to come out with a new design.

India is poised for a 'leap in production' and the government's Rhetoric on infrastructure creation is bearing results said by RBI governor Raghuram Rajan. Rajan said i think we are right for change, the government focus on improving logistics network, on infrastructure creation, some of the private sector companies like Snapdeal, Flipkart are creating a change in warehousing, logistics. Rajan was in a conversation with Singapore deputy prime minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Business Standard chairman TN Ninan at the CII organised Singapore Symposium 2016. Rajan said for first time in India's history the country is close to power sufficiency. I know the commentary on the fact that some demand is not being expressed. But we are close to sufficiency and given that we are using only 60 to 65 percent of the available capacity there is room for power production. 
Rajan said India could be on a verge of a revolution provided businesses are allowed to find their own way. That not planning too much the path that one has to go through, but instead create the kind of infrastructure the kind of business environment which will allow them to go where they desire to go.

Arvind Panagariya (Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog of India) says Andhra Pradesh will become the Shenzen of India and could replace Singapore as the costal port, if we prepare now. In an exclusive interview with M.Rajendran arvind highlighted the importance of southern states in playing critical role in developing the coastal economic zones, he urged the state governments to prepare the infrastructure for quick implementation of GST. By answering to a question Mr.Arvind said all the southern states have a critical role to play. My last book before i joined Niti Aayog was on 'Making miracles in three states' i.e Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. 

Andhra Pradesh before it broke up, in the early 1990's was better of than Uttar Pradesh, but by the time our study was completed Andhra had taken off, poverty had declined and is truly doing well. The new Andhra Pradesh has huge potential, it is near the state and if it plays its card right. Mr.Arvind said AP has two deep dredged ports, so there is huge potential for Vizag and other ports.
