A Chinese newspaper in an editorial Thursday said India's record of sending 104 satellites with space programme still lagging behind China's successes in its manned space programme. India launched a record 104 satellites on a single rocket on wednesday, which followed the Mars orbiter mission and gather attention in China. The Indians have a reason to be proud, said by a Thursday editorial in the Party-run Global Times. In the space technology race is not important that the number of satellites at one go. 'It's fair to say the significance of this achievement is limited. In this regard, Indian scientists know more than the Indian public, who are encouraged by media reports, it added. The Chinese state media said pointing out gaps such as lack of a manned mission.

The editorial pointed that, There is no Indian astronaut in space and the country's plan to establish a space station has not yet started, referring to China's space missions, two astronauts last year spent 30 days in the Tiangong-2 space module, which will be developed into a full-fledged space station. Pointing out that the United States space budget in 2013 was $39.3 billion, China $6.1 billion, Russia $5.3 billion, Japan $3.6 billion and India $1.2 billion. The editorial concluded that India's example was worth pondering.

In the search operations 24 Maoists, including two top commanders Chalapati and Gajarla Ravi were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border, dealing a grave puff to the Maoists in the region. Andhra Pradesh’s elite anti-Naxal force were also injured in the exchange of fire and airlifted to Visakhapatnam for treatment. The two Maoists commanders were carrying a reward of Rs 20 lakh each on their heads. And another Munna, son of Maoist top leader Ramakrishna was also said to be among the casualties.

Some of the women Maoists were also said to be among those killed in the face-off which endure for almost an hour early this morning. Police has recovered four AK-47 rifles from the scene of the encounter  where the Maoists den was found. This was a joint operation by Andhra Pradesh and Odisha security forces.

The Indian Army already been killed 20 terrorists by crossing across the Line of Control (LoC) into POK in a stealthy operation to requite the torment of 18 of indian solders killed in Uri last week. According to the sources two units of the army's elite 2 Para Commandos conducted the operation in the Uri sector and attacked three terror camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). There is no report by any defence teams or from Govt of India so far, further claims that the total casualties in the operation could have been nearly 200. The operation was conducted by 18-20 soldiers of 2 Paras who glide into PoK in choppers was reportedly conducted during the nights of September 20th and 21st, i.e two days after the Uri Army camp attack. Citing sources in the army, The Quint said it 'Stood By its Story' many on social media questioned the fidelity of the report. The Indian Army has officially contradicted about carried operation. Even 'The Quint' decided to reconfirm the information from the sources. 'We stand by our story' said the disclaimer on top of the story. Both the armed forces and the government have denied this.

The Karnataka government has deemed Ola and Uber illegal for not complying with the licensing laws of the state and has ordered the aggregators to stop operations immediately. To get the necessary operator licenses, the companies needs to provide necessary information like driver verification, vehicle details and registration details to the Regional Transport Office (RTO).  As per the rules Ola and Uber will have to install GPS on the cabs and apps, According to the reports by Thetechportal during the past week 200 cabs of Ola and Uber were seized for not having operator licenses. Same was happened in Delhi where the cab operators have to get operator licenses to operate in the city. Previous month the government in the state had seized Ola and Uber cabs for continued cascade pricing. While Uber had removed cascade pricing in Delhi and need to do in Bangalore.

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Friday said it has commissioned 600-megawatts (MW) coal-based unit at Singareni Thermal Power Project in Adilabad, Telangana. The unit has been commissioned at the upcoming 2x600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project (TPP) located in Adilabad district in Telangana. The project is being developed by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), which is India's second largest coal mining company. With the commissioning of this unit, SCCL has now successfully diversified into the power generation business. Significantly, this is the second thermal plant commissioned by BHEL in Telangana within a short span of 3-months.

Lanco Kondapalli Power Limited, a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech, has operationalised a 371 MW unit of Kondapalli Power Project at Vijayawada.
Lanco Kondapalli Power has successfully declared Commercial Operations Date (COD) for its expansion capacity of 371 MW (Phase III B Project) with effect from January 9, 2016,  Lanco Infratech Ltd informed BSE on Saturday.
A 371 MW unit of the power project had already been made operational in August last year. This Combined Cycle gas-based power project is being developed in three phases.
