Andhra Pradesh state opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that sale and consumption of liquor will be banned in AP in three phases if the YSRC is elected in 2019 assembly election. Jagan said that firstly illegal liquor vends in villages will be shut down, followed by a campaign against drinking, the liquor prices will be increased to such a level that only rich will be able to buy it. And then we will ban liquor completely in the state. Mr Reddy at the two-day meeting of the party in Amaravati said 'The future is ours, once I become chief minister, I will bring back the golden rule of our late leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy'. 

Mr Reddy added that 'I have a strong fancy to become the chief minister of the state. I wanted to rule for 30 years in a manner that will make every household keep my picture, along with that of my late father, after my demise'. Jagan released newly-coined slogan 'Anna Vastunnadu... Bhavishyattu Manade... (brother is coming, future is ours) to every home in the state. Mr Jagan added that he will launch programmes for farmers, students, women and pensioners. He said social security pension will be hiked to INR 2,000 from INR 1,000.

He said Chandrababu government has done false promises before the 2014 election. As soon as I become Chief Minister, I will distribute INR 50,000 to each small and marginal farmer holding less than five acres of land. He said a price stabilisation fund of INR 3,000 Crores and calamity relief fund worth INR 2,000 Crores will be launched for farmers in anguish, adding INR 15,000 Crores will be kept aside for women self-help groups. YSRC appointed Prasanth Kishor as political strategist of YSRC. Mr Jagan added that  'Like he helped Narendra Modi become Prime Minister in 2014, Kishor will guide us to victory in 2019.

The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) leaded by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday has cleared six investment proposals worth of INR 3,808 Crores. The companies whose proposals were cleared are Chettinad Cement Corporation Pvt. Ltd, KCP Ltd, Mohan Spintex India Ltd, Rain Group, Vishwaa Apparels and Indo Count Industries Ltd, according to a press statement from CM's office. The Chettinad Cement proposed for the investment of INR 1,350 Crores and to set up cement grinding units and cement manufacturing plants at Gytulapalem, Tallapalem, Pedagarlapadu village in Guntur district and at Narasapuram village in Visakahpatanam district. This project will start its commercial production from March 2019, and is expected to provide employment to 1,250 people.


And KCP Ltd with an investment of INR 531.61 Crores proposes to setup a cement manufacturing unit on 100 acres at Muktyala village in Krishna district. And estimated to create direct employment to about 100 people and indirect employment to 1,900. A total of 1,569 are being tracked by 17 departments with a committed investment of INR 16,87,845 Crores in Andhra Pradesh. Out of the total projects, 343 have gone into the production stage.

In Andhra Pradesh few districts in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema have experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday due to the melancholy in the Bay of Bengal, resulting in floods of several low-lying areas, disruption of roads and rails in several areas. According to the sources Guntur was the worst affected for rain falls. A bus of APSRTC with 40 passengers on borad was dupe in a swollen stream in Krosur mandal of Guntur Dist. The local people and police rescued the sailor passengers with great difficulty. Two helicopters were mustered from the Indian Navy to rescue people in the district.


River Krishna floodwaters were let out at the Pulichintala reservoir  and Prakasam barrage,  River Godavari water let out at Dowlaiswaram barrage. The Officials alerted the downstream villages to vacate the low-lying areas. East Godavari district was also experienced heavy and widespread rains, resulting in breaches to tanks and heavy water flooding in many areas. Standing paddy crops and other crops were besiege in many villages in the territory of Rajahmundry and roads were flooded. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu said that all safety steps would be taken to protect people and said the public to cooperate with the Govt authorities in the low lying areas.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today laid the foundation stone of the state's temporary secretariat in state capital near Amaravati. Chandra Babu performed religious rituals to launch the construction of the 'Interim Government secretariat' on 45 acres at Velagapudi village, Guntur district. Of Total 45 acres, 27 acres have been earmarked for government buildings and the rest for public facilities. Three building blocks are proposed to be constructed for housing the offices of government departments, which are currently functioning from Hyderabad. Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao and top officials attended the foundation stone laying ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the complex was being constructed to ensure smooth governance from Vijayawada. Chief Minister described it as a new beginning and the first step in development new capital Amaravati and said farmers had come forward to offer 33,000 acres land under land pooling for construction of the capital.
