India is focusing towards its eagerness to one day launch a space shuttle. On May-23rd scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will send skyward scale model
of a re-usable spacecraft as a test. If this mission is successful it
would re-present a break through for india's low cost space exploration program.
But it will take long time to develop a working space shuttle. It is a technology demonstrator
launch, according to the sources in ISRO. To build and launch a proper space shuttle can take 10-15 years. The modeled shuttle is about one-sixth size of planned craft, which will be launched from a small island off coast of the Andhra Pradesh. It will travel to an altitude of
about 43 miles and then return to earth with this scientists can see
how it behaves as it re-enters the atmosphere. The plan is to attempt a controlled
landing of the space craft in the Bay of Bengal, according to the source. There won’t
be an attempt to recover the vehicle. The launch will follow India's
recent launch of a satellite, essential to create own
satellite-navigation system. India has gained a global recognition for its budgeted satellite launches.

India and Mexico have discussed ways to enhance co-operation in key areas of trade and energy with Sushma Swaraj (External Affairs Minister) inviting Mexican participation in Govt innovative programmes like 'Make in India' and 'Digital India. Swaraj and her Mexican counterpart Claudia Ruiz Massieu Salinas also talked about ways and means of elevating the special relationship between the two countries and agreed to schedule the next meeting of the Joint Commission in Mexico in the second half of 2016. The visiting dignitary had called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. Swaraj mentioned that India would like Mexico s participation in ensuring value addition and greater use of technology in our agriculture and agro-processing sectors. The External Affairs Minister also conveyed government's interest in providing launch facilities for Mexican micro and nano satellites. The Mexican Foreign Minister renewed the invitation extended by the Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto for Modi to visit Mexico in the near future.

A massive fire tonight broke out during cultural event 'Make In India' held at Girgaum Chowpatty seafront here where a string of film celebrities and political leaders were present as part of the high-profile ‘Make in India’ investment meet but there were no casualties. The fire that broke out at around 8.22 pm was put under control, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told reporters. The blaze was brought under control in quick time by 14 fire engines and 10 water tankers with swift evacuation of thousands of people. Good news was no one was injured in this massive fire. Sources says that it was organisers have played a very important role by taking quick decisions and saved the crowed.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by describing Maharashtra as the 'powerhouse' of the country said that 'Make In India' vision has led to different states adopting 'competitive federalism'. Devendra thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving the state an opportunity to host the mega event which he said showcases India's strength. 'Make In India' vision has changed the outlook of the entire country. There is a fair competitive atmosphere across states throughout the country. The states are now moving from cooperative to competitive federalism Devendra said.

India is expected to offer a site in Andhra Pradesh to set up units five and six of Kudankulam nuclear power plant by Russia in sync with broad principles of 'Make in India' initiative and a decision in this regard is likely to be finalised during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow this week.
The two countries are likely to sign an agreement for the two units with provisions for involvement of India's private sector in the project including in supply of various components. "We will follow principles of 'localisation' as per "Make in India" initiative for setting up Kudankulam nuclear power plant five and six," sources said.
They said a site in Andhra Pradesh has been finalised for the project in line with government's policy for ensuring optimum use of the available nuclear sites in various states to accommodate more atomic reactors.
Incidentally, Centre has already shortlisted the Kovvada site to build a project with the assistance of US-based nuclear vendor, GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Modi is scheduled to visit Russia from December 23-24 to hold an annual summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Russia has been a key partner of India in the civil nuclear energy sector. In the last summit between Modi and Putin, it was decided that Russia will build at least 12 nuclear reactors in India by 2035.
In April last year, India and Russia had signed an agreement to build units 3 and 4 of the Kudankulam project at a cost of Rs 33,000 crore. However, work on the ground is yet to start. The units 3 and 4 are be coming up in Tamil Nadu's coastal district of Tirunelveli.
Earlier this month, Nikolai Spasskiy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom - the Russian counterpart of the India's Department of Atomic Energy, visited India and he is believed have discussed with DAE brass about various aspect of the proposed pact for Kudankulam 5 and 6.
Units 5 and 6 of VVER technology are expected to be of the same MW like units 1-4, but the cost details of the project are yet to be finalised. The government is constructing six reactors in new projects like Jaitapur (EPR 1000x6) in Maharashtra built with French technology, Kovadda in Andhra Pradesh (1000MW x 6) and Mithi Virdhi in Gujarat.

PM Narendra Modi today said the ‘Make in India’ initiative has become a movement in Japan and the island nation has created a fund of about USD 12 billion for it.”Today, there is a ‘Make In India’ movement in Japan. I have been told that USD 11-12 billion fund has been earmarked for it. This clearly indicates how both the countries can move forward,” he said while addressing the India-Japan Business Leaders Forum here.
‘Make in India’ is proceeding in mission mode, not just in India, but also in Japan, he added.Modi also said that for the first time Japan will import cars from India.”Maruti (Suzuki) will manufacture here. Japanese company will manufacture here and export it to Japan,” he said, adding that both India and Japan should move ahead together, not just in the sphere of high-speed trains, but also for “high-speed growth.”
Recalling his last visit to the country, Modi said Japan committed an investment of USD 35 billion.
“The figure had surprised many at that time, but today, within a short time-span, unimaginable progress had been made, and the contours of this investment were beginning to get visible on the ground,” he said.
Highlighting the improvement in economic indicators in both India and Japan, he said these were extremely encouraging, especially in the light of the global economic slowdown.”It is clear that India is a land of possibilities,” he added.Praising Modi’s reforms programme, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said, “Prime Minister Modi’s speed of implementing policies and reforms is like Shinkansen (bullet train) and his reform agenda is as safe as Shinkansen.” Abe also said that India has become a very attractive investment destination for Japan.
