India has rejected Google's scenario to place Indian cities, hills, tourists spots and rivers in one application by which user can traverse across 360 degree, scenic and street-level visual images. The Union Home Ministry has conveyed to Google about Street View was rejected. The Security establishment got prudent of allowing such image capturing given that planning for Mumbai attacks in 2008 is believed to have involved photographic probe of targets by Pakistani-American David Coleman Headley. Some official sources said rejection was came after a in-depth analysis by defence forces and security agencies who notice that by allowing Google to cover India would compromise country's security interest.

Google Street view is extensively used in the United States, Canada and most of the European countries its applications in India was initially allowed for a few location. Google had on an experimental premise launched Street View in some of the tourist sites like Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Varanasi river bank, Qutub Minar, Mysore Palace, Nalanda University, Chinnaswamy stadium, Thanjavur temple in partnership with the Archaeological Society of India. Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides traverse views from positions along many streets in the world.

On Monday government revealed the 'Seminal Swachh Survekshan' results in which Mysore is in 1st cleanest of the 73 cities in India and Dhanbad in Bihar was listed as the dirtiest. The surveys are carried out by the Quality Council of India (QCI). Swachh Survekshan is a cleanliness monitor which is based on extensive surveys across all the cities in India. After Mysore followed by Chandigarh, Tiruchirapalli, Delhi (NDMC) and Vishakapatnam were listed in the top five 'leaders' of the cleanliest cities. The list featuring the leaders of cleanliness and sanitation also listed Navi Mumbai and Greater Mumbai among them. The Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, while unveiling the results said, a clean India is the most profound statement that the country can make to the world which is keenly watching us.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 103rd Indian Science Congress in Mysore, Karnataka today.The event is being held at the University of Mysore from January 3 to 7 and the theme of this edition of the event is ‘Science & Technology for Indigenous Development in India’. 
Prime Minister Modi will also present 28 awards, including six gold medals to Nobel Laureates, ISCA Best Oral Presenter, ISCA Best Poster, ISCA Young Scientists, C V Raman Birth Centenary Award at the event, which is being held at University of Mysore. The Indian Science Congress is being hosted in Karnataka after 13 years and in Mysuru after 34 years.
