The government of Henan province in central China told the Xinhua news agency that 15 people were killed and eight were missing after thunderstorms and strong winds forced 7.2 million people from their homes and damaged 18,000 houses.

Nine people have been killed and 11 are missing in neighboring Hebei province, authorities in its Xingtai city said on social media late on Friday.


China's northern provinces are bracing for the country's worst rainfall this year.

In Hebei Province, at least one person has died and 34 others remain missing because of floods. China's capital city Beijing has also been lashed by torrential rains.

Heavy rains in neighboring Tianjin city have caused traffic chaos and cancellation of several flights. In Xinxiang in Henan Province, the local weather department has recorded over 300 millimeters of rainfall during the past few hours.

The Hyderabad recorded the highest temperature in April-14. The city was very hot recorded 43°C, which happens to be the highest in 43 years time. Government declared holidays for schools and office timings were also changed. Today Dark clouds covered Hyderabad giving hopes to the people reeling under intense heatwave conditions. Soon, good showers lashed the city of Charminar, and the residents of the Biryani city heaved that much needed sigh of relief. Residents of parched Hyderabad welcomed the much awaited rains in the city. 
These rains can be attributed to the trough which is extending from Vidarbha region up to Comorin area across Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. But these rains will only continue for a short duration and will not go on for long.

 Chennai city is expected to continue receiving light to moderate rain till November 15. Thereafter, the intensity will increase and good rain will be observed till November 20. A low pressure area is developing in South Bay of Bengal which will move west-northwestward and start affecting Tamil Nadu coast including Chennai from November 16. During this period (Nov 16 to Nov 20) the rainfall figure may double the monthly average of 404 mm....
