The defection of Errabelli, who until recently was a trenchant critic of Chandrasekhar Rao, shocked TDP leaders and cadre alike. He is a three time MLA and former member of Parliament.

Dayakar Rao before joining the TRS, faxed his resignation to party president N Chandrababu Naidu. Till now seven TDP MLAs have already switched over to the TRS, and with the defection of Dayakar Rao and Prakash Goud, the strength of Telugu Desam has come down to six from the original 15.
