International Fleet Review (IFR) of the Indian Navy had began today at Vizag,Andhra Pradesh, amid festive fervor in the port city. CM Chandrababu arrived in the afternoon and laid a wreath at the Victory at Sea memorial on the beach road and paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. He was accompanied in the solemn ceremony by the (R.K Dhowan) Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral , and Satish Soni (Vice Admiral) , the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command.
Then, the Chief Minister inaugurated the IFR village and the maritime exhibition organised by the Navy in the grounds of Andhra University Engineering College. It was a memorable event for the beautiful city of Vizag, babu said. He said on the east coast Andhra Pradesh is the best and Vizag is the gateway to the country from the eastern side. When we made the offer to host the IFR in Vizag, the Navy Chief agreed readily and the event would give a great boost to the image of the fast-growing city of Vizag. CM praised the prowess of the Indian Navy, which would be on display during the next four days, and he welcomed all the foreign delegates to the IFR 2016.
